The unfolding of the COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges to the American healthcare industry. As patients practice social distancing and governments across federal and local levels pass regulations that affect daily life, medical practices are being impacted. The traditional ways that physicians engaged with their patients and the manner practices conduct their operations has quickly altered as they faced a new reality.

To better understand the repercussions of the pandemic, we surveyed hundreds of medical practices across dozens of specialties to see how practice leaders reacted to and adapted their practice in light of the outbreak. Their responses provide a unique snapshot into the changing landscape for medical practies.

In the results of our COVID-19 Medical Practice Impact survey, you will see data on the following as they relate to American medical practices:

  • Rise of Telehealth adoption.
  • Overall impact on medical practices (patient volume, staffing, cashflow, appointments, temporary or permanent closures, etc).
  • The most pressing needs for medical practices at the time of the survey.
  • The impacts on their revenue cycle management operations.
  • The tools that medical practices have found to be the most helpful during the pandemic.
